1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of thehost.life ("Service"), provided by JCC Global Unipessoal Lda, VAT 519070437, located in Ponta Delgada, Azores, Portugal.
By accessing, registering for, or using thehost.life in any way, you agree to be bound by these T&C. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Service Description
thehost.life is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that uses artificial intelligence to extract property information and create automated guest welcome pages. The Service is offered in two tiers: Free (1 property, 2 languages) and Paid (up to 5 properties, 5 languages, additional features) on monthly or yearly subscription.
3. Account & Registration
To use thehost.life, you must create an account by providing accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity on your account. You must be at least 18 years old.
4. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to use thehost.life for any of the following purposes:
- Scraping, automated extraction, or bulk downloading of data from the Service without express written permission
- Reselling, redistributing, or commercializing welcome books or extracted data to third parties
- Uploading or transmitting illegal, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or harmful content
- Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or attempting to derive the AI model or algorithms
- Using the Service to build competing products or services that replicate thehost.life functionality
- Spam, phishing, malware, or other malicious activities
Violation of these terms may result in immediate termination of your account without refund (see Section 11).
5. Free Tier
The Free Tier is offered at no cost and may be discontinued at any time at JCC Global Unipessoal Lda's discretion, with one month written notice to all Free Tier users.
Free Tier users are not entitled to customer support, service level agreements, or uptime guarantees. Features may be limited or removed without notice.
6. Paid Tier & Billing
6.1 Subscription Plans
The Paid Tier is available on a monthly or yearly subscription basis. Pricing and features are displayed at the time of purchase and may be updated with 30 days' notice.
6.2 Billing & Payment
- Payment Processor: All payments are processed through Stripe
- Monthly Subscriptions: Charged on the 1st of each month, auto-renewing unless cancelled
- Yearly Subscriptions: Charged upfront, auto-renewing on the anniversary date
- Failed Payments: If payment fails, you have 3 days to retry. If payment is not received after 3 days, your account may be suspended or terminated
6.3 Plan Changes
If you switch between monthly and yearly billing (or vice versa), your subscription restarts on the new billing cycle with the new pricing plan. No proration or refund will be issued for the remaining balance of your previous plan.
6.4 No Refunds
All payments are non-refundable. This includes early cancellation, plan downgrades, and unused subscription periods. If you cancel mid-cycle, your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
7. Cancellation & Service Termination
7.1 User Cancellation
You may cancel your Paid Tier subscription at any time through your account settings. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period (end of the month for monthly plans, end of the year for yearly plans). No refund or credit will be issued for the remaining balance.
7.2 JCC Global Termination of Service
JCC Global Unipessoal Lda reserves the right to discontinue or modify the Service at any time. If we choose to permanently shut down the Service, we will provide all users with one month's written notice. Upon termination:
- You will be able to download or export your data within the notice period
- No refunds will be issued for the remaining balance of your subscription
- Your account and all associated data will be deleted (see Section 8 for data retention)
7.3 Termination for Violation
If you violate these T&C (including Section 4: Prohibited Activities), JCC Global Unipessoal Lda may immediately suspend or terminate your account without notice. No refund will be issued for the active billing cycle.
8. Your Data & Data Retention
8.1 User Content Ownership
You retain all rights to your content (property information, welcome book text, images, etc.). JCC Global Unipessoal Lda does not own or claim ownership of your data.
8.2 Use of Your Data
JCC Global Unipessoal Lda may use anonymized, aggregated data from your account to generate insights, analytics, and product improvements. This data will be fully anonymized and will not identify you or your property.
Your content will not be used for marketing, case studies, testimonials, or any public-facing purpose without your explicit written consent.
8.3 Data Deletion
When you delete your account or cancel your subscription, your data is retained for 6 months in case you wish to recover it. After 6 months, all data associated with your account will be permanently and irrevocably deleted.

8.4 Data Export
You may export your data at any time through your account settings. Upon account deletion or service termination, you will have one month to download and export your data.
9. Service Availability & Disclaimer
9.1 "As-Is" Service
thehost.life is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. JCC Global Unipessoal Lda makes no warranty of any kind, express or implied, regarding:
- The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of extracted data
- The uninterrupted availability or performance of the Service
- The security of the Service
- The fitness of the Service for any particular purpose
- The continuation or future development of the Service
9.2 No Uptime Guarantee
We do not commit to any specific uptime percentage or service level agreement (SLA). The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen technical issues. We will make reasonable efforts to minimize downtime, but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
9.3 Service Interruption Compensation
If the Service experiences a significant outage (defined as 8+ consecutive hours of unavailability) that prevents you from using the Service for a full billing period, JCC Global Unipessoal Lda may, at its discretion, issue a service credit or refund for the affected billing period. This is the only circumstance under which compensation will be provided for service interruption.
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1 Liability Cap
JCC Global Unipessoal Lda's total liability to you for any claim, loss, or damage arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the remaining balance on your account, calculated on a pro-rata basis for the current billing period.
For Free Tier users, liability is limited to €0 (zero).
10.2 No Indirect or Consequential Damages
In no event shall JCC Global Unipessoal Lda be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of profits, revenue, or business
- Loss of data or information
- Loss of guests or bookings
- Loss of goodwill or reputation
- Any other indirect or consequential loss
This applies even if JCC Global Unipessoal Lda has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10.3 Your Sole Remedy
Your sole and exclusive remedy for any unsatisfactory performance of the Service shall be termination of your account and cancellation of your subscription.
11. Intellectual Property
The Service, including the AI algorithms, user interface, design, and all underlying code and functionality, is the exclusive property of JCC Global Unipessoal Lda and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own business purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or resell the Service or any component of it.
12. Third-Party Services
thehost.life may integrate with third-party services (Airbnb, Booking.com, Stripe, Supabase, etc.). Your use of these services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. JCC Global Unipessoal Lda is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or security of third-party services.
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
13.1 Governing Law
These T&C are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Portugal, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
13.2 Arbitration
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to these T&C or the Service shall first be resolved through binding arbitration administered by a mutually agreed-upon arbitrator under Portuguese law. The arbitration shall be conducted in English or Portuguese at the discretion of the parties.
If arbitration is not successful, the dispute may be escalated to the courts of Portugal.
13.3 No Class Actions
You agree that disputes shall be resolved on an individual basis and not as part of any class action, group action, or representative action.
14. Modifications to These Terms
JCC Global Unipessoal Lda may update these T&C at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised T&C.
If we make material changes that adversely affect your rights, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
